Ruskin Pottery inkwell

An early Ruskin Pottery inkwell with later silver plated lid, circa 1905.

The inkwell has a typical Ruskin flambe glaze. This particular design of inkwell was patented in 1901 and the base of the inkwell is marked “Patent” along with an indistinct early WHT makers mark for William Howson Taylor. There is also what looks like a very faint scissor mark in the centre of the base. 

The silver plated lid has been added later in the pieces life but it has been done well and is in very good condition.
