Faulkner Bronze Co hanging light

Description

A small copper hanging light or ceiling light attributed to the Faulkner Bronze Company, circa 1901.

I purchased this light from another dealer as I recognised it from the old image of the Faulkner Bronze Company exhibition stand photograph. I believe this small lantern was actually used in conjunction with a double armed version of the wall light I also have for sale.  It doesn’t work brilliantly with the back plate as a single lantern but looks great on its own so I have decided to sell as a small lantern or ceiling light.

The light is made of hand planished copper and has what looks to be the original vaseline shade. This particular design is very similar to other larger documented lanterns designed By Anne G. Stubbs for the Faulker Bronze Company. Gustav Stickley was so impressed with four lanterns he saw in 1903, all designed by Anne G. Stubbs, that he took them back to the United States with him and utilised some of said designs.

The light comes with a period ceiling boss and was recently rewired ready for use. It will need to be installed and tested by a suitably qualified electrician.

Small but very beautiful.
