Norman & Ernest Spittle brass coal bucket

A brass and iron coal bucket made by the firm of Norman and Ernest Spittle, circa 1900.
This particular design coal bucket is shown as design number 697 in the Spittle Brothers catalogue. The design number dates the design to 1897 when the firm was just starting out and Norman was the primary designer.
The bucket has all the characteristic hallmarks of a Spittle brothers piece. It rather large, well constructed and hand planished all over. The iron work is very stylised and instantly recognisable.
In good condition overall with only minor unevenness in the patina.
