Francis Cargeeg copper and brass bowls

Description

Two copper and brass bowls made by Francis Cargeeg, circa 1940. 

Simpler in design to the more elaborate chargers, the bowls still have the very distinctive concentric hand planishing and are decorated with Celtic influenced brass swirls.

The bowls are unmarked but an ashtray by Francis Cargeeg showing the same brass swirl design is in the collection of the Penlee House Gallery and Museum in Penzance, link below:

Dimensions:    10″ in diameter by 2 1/4″ high. 4 1/4″ in diameter and 1 1/2″ high

Condition:   Good with some unevenness in the patina
