Yattendon School copper vase
Description
A large two handled copper vase made by the Yattendon School, circa 1900.
This is a well known design by Elizabeth Waterhouse with a superb repousse pattern of abstract flowers. The design featured in the Home Arts and Industries Exhibition of 1899 and was illustrated in The Studio 1899, Volume 17, Page 102.
A vase of the same design is held by the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL) in Reading and was featured in a blog post by a member of the staff.. link here
Details
Dimensions: 15 1/2″ high and 5″ in diameter at the base
Condition: Good. One small split to the base which means it will not hold water. The piece has also been recently polished
