A silver plate on copper bowl designed by Edward Spencer for the Artificers’ Guild, circa 1920.
The hand planished bowl is most likely a salt. It is richly decorated with a floral patterned band to the rim along with typical fine wirework and chasing details typical of Edward Spencer. The bowl has a hexagonal base with simple chased decoration that gives this piece an ecclesiastical feel.
The bowl is stamped to the underside with Edward Spencer’s personal mark.
