Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild cigarette box

Description

A copper and silver cigarette box by the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild, circa 1910.

Quite a simple riveted construction with ball feet and the original cedar wood lining. There is a silver circle in the centre of the lid that was most likely meant for possible inscriptions.

This particular box is shown in the 1910 D.S.C.G. showroom catalogue described as a hand wrought copper cigarette box with silver mounts (Design No 365).
