Jesson Birkett Co round copper box

Description

A circular copper box attributed to Jesson, Birkett & Co, circa 1905.

The hand planished box sits on four curled feet. The construction is typical of many Jesson, Birkett Co designs of this period with copper strap work and rivets used throughout.

The finial on this piece is often attributed to one of Jesson, Birkett & Co’s key designers, Anne Grisdale-Stubbs.

I am not sure what this box was used for. I think it is too decorative to be a fireside piece and was most likely for use on a ladies dressing table.
