Francis Cargeeg copper mirror

Description

A hand worked circular copper mirror with typical celtic influenced design, made by Francis Cargeeg, circa 1940.

The mirror is marked with Cargeeg’s “treskele”, an etched and engraved trademark. There is a small catch attached to the back to enable this charger to be hung on a wall.

This particular design is illustrated in the book, Cornish Art Metalwork by Colin Pill, page 107. An identical mirror featured in a short video clip of Francis Cargeeg exhibiting some of his works. The last image shown is of Francis Cargeeg himself looking into a mirror of very similar design.
