Newton School of Metal Workers copper tray

Description

A copper tray made by Albert Prime of the Newton School of Metalworkers in 1924.

This large copper tray is hand planished with a simple punched decoration to the edges and twisted copper handles. It is marked with Albert Prime’s distinctive monogram to the back and what looks like a date in 1924.

This tray also appears in the centre of an image of the workers from the Newton School of Metalworking. The date for the image is unknown but it looks to be around 1900.
