Arts and Crafts copper font ewer

Description

A tall copper font ewer in the Arts and Crafts style, circa 1905.

This tall jug with handle is most likely a font ewer. The piece is incredibly well made with a heavy gauge of copper. The body is hand planished with both repousse and chased detailing. The handle also has chased details and is attached using small copper rivets. The body also has an applied rope twist decoration which appears to have been silvered at one point.

I have yet to figure out who made this piece but the overall design and hand planishing leads me to believe it was one of the Birmingham Arts and Crafts makers and the piece dates to around 1905.
