Bernard Cuzner silver belt buckle
Description
A very nicely made silver belt buckle attributed to Bernard Cuzner and A.H. Jones, circa 1905. The buckle is not hallmarked but tests positively as silver. The peacock was a favourite motif of the Arts & Crafts movement and this is a wonderful example.
The attribution is made based on a advert for the short lived venture between Bernard Cuzner and A.H. Jones (1901 – 1902). The advert shows a very similar peacock design being used in a finger plate.
