A copper charger attributed to Norman & Ernest Spittle, circa 1900.
This design is often attributed to the firm of Norman & Ernest Spittle due to the distinctive mythical serpent head design. It appears on a number of designs by Norman Spittle from around 1900. The four hearts with pointed edges are also found on other known Spittle chargers from this period.
The charger has some pen marks on the underside including a possible design number “5003”.
