A pair of silver plated candlesticks with oak twist stems made by A E Jones Ltd, circa 1910.

This is a well know design by A E Jones Ltd and both candlesticks are marked inside the top candle holder with the design number “1723”. the silver plated copper base and top have a hand planished finish.

A E Jones Ltd made these in both solid silver and silver plated copper. Although a fairly common design, this particular pair is in the best condition I have ever seen. When they arrived they were a very dark grey colour suggesting they had not been cleaned for many years (before and after pictured). After some judicious cleaning they have come up brilliantly and the original silver plating is in excellent condition.
