Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild tea caddy
Description
A copper and silver tea caddy by the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild, circa 1910.
One of my favourite pieces by the D.S.C.G. because it fits in the hand almost perfectly and is very tactile. I have called it a tea caddy but it could just have easily been for tobacco or a powder box. Quite simple in design with a silver detail around the edge of the lid which is topped with a nice finial. The piece has a good bit of the original patina that the Guild used on mixed metal pieces.
Fully marked to the base with the usual D.S.C.G. under a ducal coronet.
