D.S.C.G. copper gilt sugar caster

Description

A very unusual copper gilt sugar caster made by the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild, circa 1910.

A very large gold plate on copper sugar dredger which appears in the D.S.C.G. showroom catalogue (No.322), circa 1910. The dredger is described as a copy from the 1720 period from an piece in the Duchess of Sutherland’s personal collection.

The underside is marked with the D.S.C.G. makers mark.

Condition:    A number of dings and two small splits to repousse decoration on the underside
