A silver plated hot water jug made by the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild, circa 1910.
The jug is richly decorated and is most likely a copy of an 18th century Georgian coffee pot. The Guild frequently copied or adapted designs from the past and a very similar hot water jug is illustrated in the showroom catalogue, circa 1910, which is described as being from the George III period.
The jug has a wicker handle which is in good condition and is marked to the base with the D.S.C.G. makers mark.
