Newton School copper dish

Description

A copper dish by the Newton School of Metal Work, circa 1905.

The dish has a symmetrical design of two exotic birds amongst foliage in repousse, It also has the typical “pie-crust” edge used frequently by the School. This particular design appears in the Newton School design archive and is possibly by John Williams.

Dimensions:   7 1/4″ in diameter and approximately 1/4″ deep

Condition:    Good. Some verdigris/polish residue in the repousse work and quite recently polished
