A E Jones copper and silver candlestick

Description

A silver and copper candlestick by A E Jones, Circa 1910.

The candlestick has applied silver decoration with a laurel leaf and ribbon pattern very typical of Jones’s mixed metal pieces of this period. The silver bands end at three rosettes on the base of the candlestick.

This candlestick can just be made out in an image of the A. Edward Jones exhibit at the Royal Agricultural Hall, July 1912 shown in the book, A Edward Jones Metalcraftsman.

This piece would most likely have had an applied patina but this has been polished off over the years and I also think this piece has been lacquered at some stage as it has retained it’s shine over many years as part of my collection.
