A E Jones copper and fumed oak candlestick
Description
A stunning copper and fumed oak candlestick by A E Jones, circa 1905. The copper is hand planished with lovely repousse work to the base. Both the base and candle sconce are secured with copper rivets.
A picture of the design drawing for this candlestick in silver and fumed oak (No.55) was illustrated in the book; A Edward Jones, Metalcraftsman, Birmingham Museum & Gallery, page 11.
This candlestick was almost certainly retailed by Liberty & Co as it can also be seen on a Liberty table shown in The Studio Yearbook, 1906, p.69.
