A E Jones silver cloak case with Ruskins

Description

An early silver cloak clasp by A E Jones set with two Ruskin ceramic roundels. The clasp is fully hallmarked for A E Jones, Birmingham, 1904. It is well documented that Jones knew Howson Taylor of Ruskin Pottery and the early pieces by A E Jones often feature Ruskin Pottery “jewels”. This particular clasp was illustrated in an early Jones catalogue (No.91), circa 1905.
