Yattendon School copper tankards

Description

A pair of near matching size copper tankards by the Yattendon School, Berkshire. The repousse work is very typical of the Yattendon School and the hand planished finish is very distinctive.

One of the designs appeared in the Home Arts & Industries exhibition in 1896. It was subsequently illustrated in The Studio 1896, Volume 8, page 91.

The second design is also similar to a piece shown in the Art Workers Journal of 1898.
